Jgaa's Cybermusic

A place for free music on the Internet

I've written some internet programs and released them as freeware. I have also written som music, in the past. It was my intention to release a "Freeware audio CD", but I never made it that far.

The idea with this section of www.jgaa.com, was to offer a place where songwriters and artists could publish their music, so that anyone could enjoy it. Some people make music for a living, but lots and lots of music is recorded just because it is alot of fun to make music. My intention was to spread the non-profit music to anyone interested. Unfortunately, I never found the time to complete this intention. Today however, this is of no importance, as www.mp3.com does offer free publishing of your music! Lots of artists from all over the world has published their works there. So, if you are interested in cybermusic, you can look at my contribution and brief description of rechnologies and software, - but if you want to listen to legal MP3's, or publish your own songs, give mp3.com closed look!

The songs available at www.jgaa.com are released as copyrighted freemusic. They can be lisened to, and played on radio stations, or anywhere else - free of charge. They can not be seld.

Some background

What is Internet? Is it a place where ppl. can do quick money, sell porr and drugs, make Cybershops? I SAY NO! Internet is a place where people share information, educate each other, seek help - and give help.

What is music? Is it a product - designed to make quick money? I SAY NO! Music is something created by inspiration; emotions, love, anger, hate... And it belongs to everyone. Money must never decide what music that make it to the masses. Because - that will reject so many beautiful melodies, so many strong emotions, so many unknown composers and singers.

Therefore, my friends, music must make it to the Internet - not only to the covers in the cybershops, - but to the Internet community. And - like this page demonstrate - it is real easy to make free music on the Internet.

Jgaa's Cybermusic is an example on how you can distribute your music to (potential) millions of listeners. And it is an example on what I believe music should be - personal and free. The songs was originally recorded in my home-studio - some boxes with electronics, some PC cards and a microphone. They are sampled at 22 KHz mono (wav) and 44.1 KHz stereo (mp3) using a $25 sound card. Everyone with a strong interest for singing or composing, and a PC, have the equipment to prepere a distribution for their songs. You don't need CD quality to release a song. And you definately don't need CD quality to enjoy a song.

The purpose of Jgaa's Cybermusic is not to distribute my songs. I have used them as an example on how to do this.
