As an old professional C programmer, I spend some of my spare time writing freeware programs. In the past I used QNX and UNIX, but I'm currently changing platform to Win95/NT.

FREEWARE Policy
I release all my software as copyrighted freeware. Soon, the packages will be rearranged, and distributed with the complete source code under the GNU GPL, with the special restriction that no govenrnmental organizations, or companies owned ny governments, can use the software, or the source code.
- You might not charge anything for the distribution of my software, but the actual costs of media, shipping etc. I don’ make money on it, so I don’ allow you to make money selling it. The software can be bundled on "shareware CD's", and CD's attached with computer magazines or other printed magazines and books. The software can also be made available on FTP servers, webservers and other electronic distribution means, as long as the use of these services are free.
- My software comes without any guarantee of any kind. I scan my disks for viruses, I fix all the nasty bugs I can find, BUT I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE, LOSS OF INCOME, OR ANY OTHER PROBLEMS YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE FROM USING MY SOFTWARE.
- My software is NOT TO BE USED by any governmental or mainstream political institutions in any country. The freeware policy does ONLY apply for private individuals and private corporations. The governmental and mainstream political organizations can go and get their software somewhere else. Universities, schools and other public educational institutions can use my software as they wish.
- I keep the full Copyright of all my software, and reserve the right to change this policy whenever I feel like it.

Support and new versions
The great popularity of these programs has become a problem. I simply get so many emails that it's hard to do anything else than reply to emails... In order to lower the load on my mail account, I have set up several mail lists and new mail accounts to support the software.
Please use the following mail accounts:
The two first mail accounts are "dummy" auto-responders that will reply with more information and trash your original requets. The BugReports account will forward the email to me.
The following list-servers are also operational:
In order to join one of the mail-lists, send an ordinary email to the list with the following word in the messsage body: JOIN.
Commercial support
Commercial end-user support is available. Please contact Lerøen Datapartner in Norway at webmaster@ldp.no for details.
Newsgroup alt.comp.jgaa
The newsgroup alt.comp.jgaa is now open for discussions and questions about all software from the Jgaa's freeware series. If your news provider dont carry the group, please ask them to open it. (It usually takes only a day or two).
The newsgroup is the best place to ask questions and give suggestions about this software :-)
The newsgoup is currently flooded with spam messages. We complain about all spam messages in the newsgroup to the spammers ISP and NNTP host, and in many cases also to the web hosting service carrying the sites they promote. As a result, many (if not most) of the spammers have to look for a new ISP, news server and web hosting service after abusing the newsgroup. Unfortunately, new spammers are 'born' every day. Please ignore the spam messages (or join us in the effort of filing complaints to their ISP's) until we get a cancel-bot up and running.
History
Below follows a brief resume of my computer experience
- In the stoneage, I bought my first computer, a VIC20. The first thing I did when I got it, was to write an editor in Commodore Basic. A year later, I wrote an information service program (not unlike the idea behind many of todays HTML pages) for Commodore64, which was transmitted from a local radio station to the listeners once a week. At the same time I wrote a realtime app for VIC20 to control the radio stations technical equipment automatically.
- Just when the IBM XT was beginning to be known (but still was very expensive), I bougth myself an Osborne CP/M personal computer, and wrote a couple of database apps in Turbo Pascal.
- Two years later I bought a 8 MHZ clone PC from the US and a modem. I released a few utilities as freeware.
- At some point I decided to write a multiuser BBS application. After some experimenting, I gave up DOS and got myself a copy of QNX. Three months later I formed a software company and released CrCs - a true multiuser BBS with indexed databases, high security and state of the art sysop interface.
- In the years to follow I ported several major UNIX programs to QNX, among them Zmodem. I was also involved in the development of several UNIX applications, among them a MUD implementation.
- 2 years later I (and my partner in the comapy) released CrWs, a full featured word processor for QNX. This was a major project written from scratch in Computer Innovations C for QNX, with more than 200.000 lines of code. CrWs was distributed in 21 countries. In 1990 we ported it to UNIX, using Microsoft C for SCO, and AT&T and GCC for Interactive UNIX. But there was no money left for marketing, so the UNIX version was never released...
- At the same time I wrote a network protocol between QNX and Interactive UNIX (to ease the multiplatform development), a Basic interpereter, a spreadsheet and a generic database engine.
- In 1990 I also ported "Tabula", a commercial BBS system from QNX to UNIX.
- In the fall of 1992 I got a job as head of sales and marketing in a major local PC manufacturer/distributor and ended my professional programming carieer.
- In 1992 I got into a dispute with a criminal police officer in Bergen. In 1994 I was arrested and sent to jail for 16 months for a crime that was never commited, without any evidence of any kind. In fact, all that was proven was that the police had framed me, by faking statements, destroying tapes and evidence and lying in court.
- Late 1995 when I got out of jail, I decided not to work again until my name is cleared, and the criminals in the police that framed me are sent to jail.
- In january 1996 I wanted to set up my own FTP server on the Internet, and bougth MSVC4++ since there is no 32 bit freeware FTP server available for WIN95/NT.
- In march 1996 I failed to find a decent HTML generator fitting my needs, and wrote HTMgen32 in a week. I released it as freeware at once.
- Currently I am working on new versions of War FTP Daemon, and War FTP Client.
